Good solid hotel on a quiet street that is just 5 minutes’ walk from the Banco de Eapaña metro. This is in the artsy and gay part of Madrid, close to Goya and the active shopping district. Because everything was prepaid online, there was very little interaction with the front desk. They were all polite and helpful. The hallways lights are motion detected, therefore energy efficient. The elevators are small but useful. The room key needed to be swiped several times before the light turn green. That was the only inconvenience. The room was modern and quite okay by European standards. Good a/c, good hot water. The bathroom floor was seeping water just a little on my last day, as I was getting ready to check out. I did not have a chance for the hotel food, just because of the choices up and down the street. The bed, linens and towels were fine. I had an interior room that had a view of the alley but that was not important to me this time. Housekeeping was great and I felt secure while staying in the hotel. For this price point, I would be willing to use the hotel again.
